What You Need To Know About Google Merchant Center Or Shopping Suspensions…

There are many reasons why Google suspends accounts, and there are two things that could have occurred to cause this suspension.

1. You have violated or appear to have violated a Google Merchant Center Policy or something in their terms and conditions.

2. You are selling a product that is not allowed on Google.

This may appear quite simple, but when broken down to the policy level, Merchant suspensions are primarily due to misrepresentation in one form or another. For most, finding the offense is like finding a needle in a haystack, and the reason is usually under account issues. Understand there may be more than one reason for your suspension. The following is a list of the most common Merchant suspensions.

  • Misrepresentation
  • Counterfeit Goods
  • Data Feed Issues
  • Unacceptable Business Practice
  • Trademark Infringement
  • Dangerous Products or Services

These are the most common but in my experience, 90% of Merchant suspensions are for misrepresentation in one form or another. This could be your Merchant Center, your site or your shopping app like Shopify or Woo Commerce. How do you know and where do you start?

Save yourself time and money and hire an expert. There are so many variations of misrepresentation, and then figuring out what part of your system the violation is on? Misrepresentation could be as simple as data not being in sync to your whole process is misleading. The system will suspend you if anything doesn’t feel like it is specific enough or you just misplaced a word that caused the system to misunderstand what you are trying to do or sell.
